Best of Breed Winners
Best of Breed in the AKK Specialty is the title given to the dog or bitch who has been judged the best representative specimen of the AKK at that particular conformation show.

 

 

The Gail Compton Sportsmanship Traveling Plaque
The Sportsmanship Plaque is a traveling plaque that was donated by the Mason-Dixon Multi-Breed Dog Association in memory of Gail Compton.  The winner of this award is selected by those exhibiting in the AKK Specialty and it resides with the winner for one year.  After the year is up, the winner will than be presented with an individual plaque to keep. 

 

Showmanship Plaque
The winner of the Showmanship Plaque is selected by the Judge from amongst all the exhibitors in that AKK Specialty.

 

Junior Showmanship Award
The purpose of this award is to encourage young handlers to become involved in conformation and performance events, breeding dogs, and promoting responsible dog ownership.  Junior members are encouraged to seek help from experienced breeders, exhibitors, trainers, and other Junior members. Junior members are encouraged to get involved in local dog clubs and volunteering with club activities.
